This year Christmas isn’t going to be ‘normal’ for any of us, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be festive and enjoy this season if you’re visiting London.
There are a number of activities still going on throughout the UK’s capital and there are plenty of opportunities for some Christmas-themed sightseeing too. If you want to do so in style, make sure you arrange a chauffeur service in London so that you don’t have to worry about navigating public transport.
As TimeOut recently revealed, there are still some excellent Christmas window displays in the capital’s most prominent shops and you could easily visit several during a drive around London’s streets.
Selfridges is on the list, with a four out of five rating and the publication noting that the retailer has opted for an “uplifting” ‘Once Upon A Christmas’ theme for 2020. That means a series of traditional and heartwarming scenes await on this famous Oxford Street shop frontage.
Harvey Nichols, meanwhile, received a TimeOut rating of five out of five for its festive display this year. According to the magazine, the store has “successfully channeled how many of us are feeling” by creating a display that reads: “Bah Humbug… Bring on 2021”.
However, this window display is a bit more pared back than some of the others you’ll find in the city.
Liberty, meanwhile, has gone for a colourful and wholesome display with the theme of Peace, Love and Liberty, receiving a ranking of four out of five from the publication.
Harper’s Bazaar, meanwhile, recently pointed out that many of London’s iconic festive light displays will still be set up this year, including the impressive and always beautiful hand-picked 60ft Christmas tree in Covent Garden. This particular tree is adorned with 30,000 festive lights.
