Gucci Opens First Stand-Alone Luxury Travel Store In Paris

Paris will always be a top choice of destination for anyone looking for a luxurious and cosmopolitan time away… but now there’s yet another reason to visit the City of Light and Love and that’s Gucci’s first stand-alone luxury travel store, which has just opened its doors to fashionistas the world over.

According to Fashion United, the two-storey Gucci Valigeria boutique will sell all sorts of high-end weekend bags and suitcases, as well as other travel accessories such as the brand’s Off the Grid swimming trunks made from regenerated Econyl nylon.

Even if you don’t find anything to take home with you, it’s certainly worth visiting the store just to take a look at the decor, which is inspired by luxury travel from the Belle Epoque period and features vintage light fixtures and window displays that look like luggage carts.

As the brand explains, “the decor evokes the atmosphere of an elegant vintage railway carriage, where furniture and finishes in dark walnut contrast with the fabric surfaces in neutral tones”.

Speaking to WWD, president and CEO of Gucci Marco Bizzarri said: “Gucci Valigeria is a reminder of our Florentine roots and our timeless craftsmanship. It is a symbol of our tradition, which is now being reinterpreted for the modern traveller and explorer.

“Rue Saint-Honore in Paris is the ideal place to host our first Gucci Valigeria boutique, a space designed to give access to a unique world made up of continuous travel and discovery.”

Rue Saint-Honore itself is the chic and luxurious heart of Paris and here you’ll find a dazzling array of beautiful architecture, lots of shopping opportunities, wonderful restaurants and some of the best hotels the city has to offer.
