Now that lockdown restrictions are gradually being eased around the country, and the UK is on track with the roadmap to opening up fully by June 21st, there’s no time like the present to put a few dates in the social calendar… and, given that theatres have been closed for a year or so now, what could be better than heading off to see a London stage show or two?
There are all sorts of amazing shows to see and you really are spoiled for choice, with something for everyone to enjoy. On August 7th, for example, you could make your way to the Prince Edward Theatre for a performance of the multi award-winning Mary Poppins, telling the tale of everyone’s favourite nanny.
Or what about heading off to the Lyceum Theatre later on in the year for a performance of The Lion King? The show is running from September 7th to April 3rd next year and you know you’ll be in for a treat, as it’s received all sorts of awards and a host of five-star reviews.
And for something a little different, you could always pay the Fortune Theatre a visit to catch The Woman in Black, which tells the tale of a lawyer obsessed with his belief that he has been cursed, based on the Gothic-themed novel by English author Susan Hill.
The Fortune Theatre itself is one of the smallest to be found in the West End, so you can expect a very intimate atmosphere - and you’re sure to love the Grade-II listed building.
